Founded in 1905, Korea University is South Korea's largest private university and a multidisciplinary institution ranked among the top universities in Asia. Led by President Yoon-Dae Euh, Korea University is fiercely proud of its history and contribution to the development of South Korea. Now celebrating its centennial, Korea University is embracing the challenges of the 21st Century and focusing on educating global leaders for a global society.Located across four campuses, the University consists of 81 academic departments in 15 colleges and 75 research institutes and has a student enrolment of over 30,000 at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An eminent faculty, outstanding students and internationally recognised research programs all contribute to the University's academic reputation.
In anticipation of its 100th anniversary, the University launched its "Vision 2005" project in 1994 with the goal of further raising the standard of education and quality of student life for Korean and international students. This plan includes expanding the network of academic cooperation with exchange institutions; developing more opportunities and benefits for international students; creating a more convenient learning environment; and improving the quality of services beneficial to study and life on campus. Korea University is committed to internationalisation and the benefits and rewards it brings to citizens of both Korea and the world.
The University offers a number of international programs including a Graduate School of International Studies and Institute of Foreign Language Studies. An accredited member of the International Academic Exchange Committee (IAEC), Korea University has been preparing a variety of international programs for international graduate and undergraduate students. Korea University also has extensive academic links with over 220 International Student Exchange Program member universities.
