Winning with Employees, the U21Global Way
Process engineer enhances skill-sets with online MBA
As a Process Engineer for Sasol Gulf back in 2002, Mohammed Abed was a
dedicated employee who quickly showed his promise by managing a
production line and manning a shift on his own. Recognising Mohammed's
potential and eagerness to learn, the management of Sasol Gulf arranged
for him to undergo a six-week training course in Italy, which further
sparked Mohammed's ambition and hunger for knowledge.
After completing the course in April 2006, Mohammed was promoted to Project Manager, and was able to apply his newly-learned skills in various new projects. Upon completion of these projects, his exemplary performance earned him another promotion, this time to Maintenance Manager.
The skills that Mohammed has acquired in U21Global's MBA programme have dramatically and directly impacted on his work life. Through courses such as Strategic Management and Organisational Behavior, he has learnt how best to approach work-related issues and develop the most efficient and effective solutions to any problem.
Mazen Khalid, Mohammed's supervisor, has specifically noted three areas in which Mohammed had initiated improvements since he embarked on the MBA programme. These included significantly cutting down waste disposal costs through the establishment of a waste water treatment facility at the plant, refining operating procedures to optimise production cycles, and introducing feasibility instruments to mitigate risks involved in potential projects.
After undergoing the U21Global MBA programme, Mohammed has emerged a highly motivated individual with sheer will and determination, bringing immeasurable benefits to him and his employer.
